1 El cielo proclama la gloria de Dios;
de su creación nos habla la bóveda celeste.
2 Los días se lo cuentan entre sí;
las noches hacen correr la voz.
3 Aunque no se escuchan palabras
ni se oye voz alguna,
4 el mensaje llega a toda la tierra
y hasta el último rincón del mundo,
hasta donde el sol tiene su hogar.
5 Y el sol sale como un novio de la habitación nupcial,
alegre como un atleta al emprender su camino.
6 Nace el sol por un lado del cielo
y da la vuelta hasta llegar al otro,
sin que nada pueda huir de su calor.
7 La enseñanza del Señor es perfecta,
porque da nueva vida.
El mandato del Señor es fiel,
porque hace sabio al hombre sencillo.
8 Los preceptos del Señor son justos,
porque traen alegría al corazón.
El mandamiento del Señor es puro
y llena los ojos de luz.
9 El temor del Señor es limpio
y permanece para siempre.
Los decretos del Señor son verdaderos,
todos ellos son justos,
10 ¡son de más valor que el oro fino,
más dulces que la miel del panal!
11 Son también advertencias a este siervo tuyo,
y le es provechoso obedecerlas.
12 ¿Quién se da cuenta de sus propios errores?
¡Perdona, Señor, mis faltas ocultas!
13 Quítale el orgullo a tu siervo;
no permitas que el orgullo me domine.
Así seré un hombre sin tacha
y estaré libre de gran pecado.
14 Sean aceptables a tus ojos
mis palabras y mis pensamientos,
oh Señor, refugio y libertador mío.
